Who am I and what do I offer?

I am professionally trained in hypnotherapy and use my knowledge and acquired skills to help my patients achieve the best possible outcome they can for the issue(s) or condition(s) they present with. I believe hypnotherapy offers natural healing using hypnosis to access the inner sunconscious mind which is also where deeply beneficial, enhancing and positive changes can be made.

I trained with the LCCH (London College of Clinical Hypnosis), a university accredited college that is at the forefront of providing professional hypnotherapy training in the UK and internationally.

It is important that you check your prospective hypnotherapist is fully trained and qualified. I am a member of the BSCH (British Society of Clinical Hypnosis). Please click on the link on the Links page to verify my membership with this body.

Alongside my paid work I have worked voluntarily in various capacities over the years. I am a voluntary hypnotherapist with Anxiety UK and a trained CRUSE bereavement counsellor.

In the 1990's I was a founding committee member of Ovacome (a national charity for ovarian cancer) in which I set up and managed a 24 / 7 national help-line and telephone support network for women diagnosed with ovarian cancer and their families. I also worked as a nursing assistant in St Catherine's Hospice in Crawley, West Sussex.

My life has been touched by cancer in a number of ways and I do sincerely believe there is a strong link between body and mind where serious illness and general health and well-being of the body is concerned. There is a relatively new area of science and research called Psychoneuroimmunology (or PNI for short!) which is of particular interest to me. It focuses on the link between mind and body and how the mind can produce a physical effect on the body, (positive or negative). It is a fascinating science and, with more and more information becoming available, I continue to acknowledge how wonderful and powerful a healing entity the human mind and body can be.

As a fully qualified and insured hypnotherapist you can be assured of a caring, non-judgmental and professional attitude and approach. I will view my work with you very much as a partnership, one in which we work together to seek and attain the best possible solution or outcome for you.

I will work safely and will abide by the Code of Ethics of the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis.

I will maintain complete confidentiality. However, there are sometimes exceptions to this, such as needing to contact your doctor or other health care professional, but this is not done without your informed written consent. Another exception is where my silence could result in harm to you or others.

I will work with integrity and be open and honest with you and I will not make false claims or promises about the treatment offered.

In your own interests, I will not accept you as a client if I believe I am unable to help you. I might suggest alternatives that may be more appropriate. In the event of this occurring, no charge will be made if the time spent in the initial consultation is less than 30 minutes in duration.

AND WHAT DO I ASK FROM YOU?

The work we complete together will require your commitment, cooperation and motivation because it will often not be an effortless process, (sorry about that!).

BUT REMEMBER TOO ...

THE REWARDS OF MAKING WORTHWHILE, POSITIVE AND LASTING CHANGES CAN BE GREAT AND LIFE-ENRICHING.
